New hosts looking for advice. We have enjoyed hosting but we get too many requests. It feels like we will have to turn down 10-20 requests per week during prime season to host a few each week. Help. What should hosts do in our shoes?

I'm also setting "Not Currently Available". It is a good favor for the guests as well as they don't need to write unnecessary requests. We take quests once or twice per month. Usually after enabling hosting it takes couple of days before first request.
At least once, guests were surprised by the change in our hosting status. They suspected that there was some error in accepting the request. Perhaps in the future I will mention this in my reply.
One thing that can help: Don't forget the original philosophy of WS was simply to offer a place to put a tent and a shower. It is not necessary to socialise and share a meal etc with your guests. To be honest, sometimes as a guest myself at the end of a long day all I want is to have a shower, then be by myself quietly in my tent.
In other words, reduce the burden on yourself by simply letting guests know they must basically look after themselves, and let them do just that while you do what you would do if they weren't there.
